Well I did that weird $5 transcription that no one wanted to take. Even though it was only 5 minutes long, I guess the speaker's accent was difficult for some.

Also, a serious transcriber would use foot pedals in addition to software... the setup can get pretty crazy, especially if you factor in things like audio-cleaning software as well. I find that as long the quality of audio is reasonable, otranscribe is good enough.

 

A sound engineer can do some magical to clean audio up and I bet some transcribers use similar tricks.

If you don't believe me.. a lot of anime is recorded with multiple voice actors in the same room with mics in front of them... they are all turning papers and jumping around the whole time. To make matters worse the rooms are often concrete buildings with no modern sound dampening ect like a recording booth... and it all sounds great after the sound engineer fixes all of it.

What specifically makes one router better than another? I'm looking to get a new one for my place, as when more than two people come over we definitely have some lag issues. This one would likely be a good upgrade but what should I actually look for when checking specs?

How old is your old router? This one supports wireless AC that runs on 5ghz and obviously has all the old stuff. There is lots of technical stuff besides that but one fun thing to note about this is it has a 1.2ghz processor on it.... it is crazy how beefy routers are these days lol

If you give me your current router's model I can tell you some more technical comparisons most likely.
