No surgery, yes to torn meniscus. The Ortho I met w/ recommended trying everything possible before resorting to surgery since recovery time +likelihood of arthritis is higher w/ surgery. PT + RICE has gotten me back to almost normal. Minor tenderness some days but even that happened pre-injury since I haven't had great knees since high school haha.

I imagine a lot of it has to do with the severity of the injury, maybe yours is worse than most
