Yeah, it's not like it gets brutal in the mountains, but it's certainly too hot not to have anything these days. The apartment just has shit for ventilation too, so it's like a little hot box. We can't even open the windows very wide because they don't have screens. WHYYYY.

We had to put little sticks next to the windows so the cats can't open the windows wide enough to get out. Bearnie did that and then promptly FLIPPED OUT as soon as he realized the window wasn't a magical portal to another room. He then forgets again a day later.

Yeah, I'm sad they're probably just going to keep rising lol. And thank you!! The balcony is one of my favorite parts about the house! I've always had a balcony (they're common in my area) but they're usually SUPER small, like enough to fit an Adirondack chair or two and a side table. The little addition/room below it is even better though, it was added well after the house was built so part of the walls are brick and the rest is all natural cedar. Smells (and looks) like a cabin in there which is super cool in the middle of a city. I'm bummed it's a "three seasons" room instead of a full blown sun room, I already know I'm going to miss it in the winter time.
