I just had a weird experience with the turkerview-rating system

I started the task before 3am eastern time, and finished after 3am.. and I could not rate it on my dashboard, which I assume is because of the difference in days that is registered with the system - using california's time zone.

am I right about the reason I could not rate a task?

 

That's right, your MTurk dashboard only displays the HITs you did today and moves on to the next day once it's 3 AM Eastern (Midnight Pacific).

To rate the HITs you did yesterday (or up to 4 days back), click on this button:



and then inside the sidebar that shows up, pick a different date in the dropdown menu:
