Bonus note from UserBob said I had found "an old" HIT.
If that "old" HIT had been visible in search results all along,
I don't know why nobody else had taken it before I got to it.
'Twas one of the easiest UB quick hits I've ever seen.
I'd gladly spend hours if there were more like that one.-

If you do the "long-term personality test" on Connect, do not exit the full-screen phase of the study, don't even switch your tab to check the timer. If you do, that phase of the study will terminate and you'll need to return the task.

Prolific says there's no need to reload the study list page. But as we've noticed, reloading can instantly reveal a study that wasn't yet visible before, because the page doesn't really update itself automatically in real-time. It just auto-reloads every couple minutes or whenever, and that's not good enough. ~ Same deal on Connect; I have to reload the page to make sure I'm not missing something new.

C'mon researchers, gimme a back button.
Let me readjust the sliders on the previous page, to fix a mistake, or to correct a relation between responses on that page and this subsequent page.
For many surveys, I'm unconvinced that such retroactive adjustment would necessarily harm the research.
At least let me go back one page.-

Having recently returned to the PaidViewpoint survey platform, I encountered a stuck survey and contacted support. They compensated me (appreciated) and informed me that PaidViewpoint recommends using Chrome (not Firefox) for their surveys. TIL

I'm out here, spending a full half-hour on a voluminous bubble-bath survey ... for a total payment of 60 cents.
Paltry payment aside, I almost enjoyed this ridiculously lengthy survey about foods and flavor preferences. (Now I'm hungry.)-

Seriously, some of these "other" survey platforms are so egregious,
revisiting them can renew your shock and dismay at how bad they are.
The survey I just did was very typical of such platforms. Firstly of course you must do numerous extremely redundant screeners, or even full surveys without pay (the ones that DQ you or crash at the very end). — Finally after a while you qualify to begin your deep-dive into a bubble-bath that is going to bury you with literally hundreds of repeating questions and permutations-of-questions about your very detailed attitudes and preferences about seemingly every food flavor known to humanity. LOL. — At some point you start laughing because the length and the level of detail is just insane. At the end, hope it won't DQ, or crash without payment, or tell you it's already "closed." — Success? Great! You've won your sixty cents. Be grateful!Last edited: Jun 23, 2025 at 3:52 AM -
