You can't really tell in this picture because it's daylight but I have white string lights throughout them (just draped about) so at night they 'glow' and look kinda cool!

We're having a small family thing (just my mom and maybe friends that I shop for so we're already exposed) for fireworks. No one that I haven't been in regular contact with because our state is going crazy on numbers right now. And we're grilling too!

(Though I use the BBQ 2-3 times per week to cook because it's too hot to turn on the hellfire cave in my kitchen right now. I'm getting really good at meals made in foil packets, lol.)

When my dad bought this place, the yard got stripped because of high lead levels. The crews who did the work killed two of the three 20 year-old grapevines. They just brought the replacements. Dad just had surgery to fix a partially separated retina Thurs., so I'm the one who has to go out and prep the bed for the new ones. I bought 4cu yards of potting soil to till in to help feed and regulate the PH and moisture. I have no idea what i'm doing besides basic garden maintenance.

 

I could fetch the farm boy in the living room for help...but that would mean getting up
