    Further addenda:

In a paper on syllogistic logic (in the Notre Dame Journal of Formal Logic, 1982), B. Thompson noted that "The quantifier 'some' is traditionally understood" [in the study of logic] "to mean 'at least some (and possibly all).'"

In The Psychology of Proof (MIT Press, 1994), L. J. Rips noted: "Many investigators believe that subjects in syllogism experiments interpret sentences of the form 'Some x are y' as suggesting 'Some x are not y' (or equivalently, 'Not all x are y'). Indeed, in a direct test of this argument, between 58% and 97% of subjects (across conditions) stated that it was correct..."

He observed that "...In a conversational context...the audience can normally assume that when a speaker sincerely says that 'some x are y' (and is in a position to know whether 'all x are y'), the speaker then believes that 'some x are not y.'"

In a paper, "The Role of Logic in Teaching Proof" (American Mathematical Monthly, 2003), Prof. S. Epp observed that "in an informal setting if a person has certain knowledge that 'All A are B' and only states that 'Some A are B,' many people would regard the person as dishonest. In other words, the statement 'Some A are B' is normally taken to imply that 'Some A are not B.' But in mathematics, that implication is invalid.”

Fun fact: when you quote someone's HIT review and then edit it, it's still programmatically linked to the original review, so when people rate your post, it also counts as "Good review" votes for the original review too. So in this case you copied @johnxyz 's review from yesterday's thread and his review is now the top review for that requester because it has 4 (and counting) "helpful" votes on TurkerView. :emoji_joy:

I actually at one point thought about finding some objectively terrible and useless review for a popular requester and then fake-boosting it to the top like that.
