Yes. This. I rarely even like flavored coffee, save for hazelnut.

I have an irrational frustration whenever I order coffee out and they get so stumped when I say "black". One of my local Dunkin Donuts: "Black? So.......... no sugar?" "No sugar" ".....No cream?" "no cream. Black." "So nothing in it?" "Nothing in it. Just black." "Do you want sugar and cream packets?" ".....no."

It literally can't be easier to order "One large black coffee please", yet I feel like I have to present a damn dissertation on exactly why I want them to pour plain goddamn coffee into a cup and hand it to me.

 

I'll try it later when I have some time and something to wash it down with if I find it super gross.

Yeah, I always feel like way too much of a basic Grinch when I order my skinny caramel macchiato with an extra shot. I legit hate myself a bit when I order that and I always look embarassed about it. I mean, I know it's really not that complicated compared to a lot of folks, but it just feels inherently wrong. Meanwhile, I can order Matt a vanilla cold brew or a black coffee and he's super happy. What can I say, I fucking loooove caramel macchiatos and I try not to drink full fat milk because, lactose intolerance.

Sometimes when I'm adulting really hard, I'll put chocolate chips in it.
