Night everybody

 

Some pain on tasks that need more memory and speed, yes, but — still I enjoy using my low-end Lenovo, terribly minimal though it is. It's marginally sufficient for many of my current purposes that don't require more memory or more speed. I'll have to upgrade at some point, but I can live with this thing's limitations for maybe another year or two.

I survived the 70s & 80s ;-) — I've known some SLOW computers. Nowadays, if even my low-end $190 laptop can handle many of my simple basic purposes without too much annoyance, that's better than the worst of the old days.

Currently, when someone replies with a quote, the quotation box has a link (the little green up-arrow) that leads BACK to the previous comment in the conversation.

What'd be cool would be: if a link could be automatically added to that previous comment, linking FORWARD to the reply. (And if multiple people reply directly to that previous comment, then that comment would get a list of links to those direct replies.)

Then, reading a conversation would be easier, with the ability to "navigate" BOTH ways — "Forward" (the suggested feature, linking from a comment to subsequent replies), as well as "Backward" (the existing feature, from a reply linking back).

I should take this idea (which probably many XenForo users have thought of before) and suggest it to XenForo ... instead of tagging @ChrisTurk, who isn't responsible for the forum software's limitations.

I guess there are reasons why XenForo doesn't have this feature.
