@turker it's actually the way I've spelled Melissa on the Internet for over three decades lol since dad first got me on aol and prodigy in the very early 90s. He was a college professor in Utah and since most of his students worked for one of those, I had an unlimited internet account back when people were paying for the Internet by the minute or hour. You know, students like to impress their professors so he always got free unlimited accounts which wasn't something you could buy back then. I'm not from Utah though, just visited a bunch when he was there in the late 80's and 90's. He got kicked out of the state in the early 2000's for smoking weed. Seriously.

 

oh that is a way more awesome story than what I was thinking lol! I hope everything worked out well after your dad left there! we had prodigy internet in 1992? 1991? but it didn't really matter because people in the house kept picking up the landline phone which would knock the computer off the internet. rreeeeeeeeeeeee ping ping ping reeeeeeeeeeeeee then it took forever to get it going again. :lol:

 

No offense, but I just don't understand people who use their name as their username on the Internet. It just makes doxxing them way easier. Not very smart, if you ask me. Some even add their last name initial too - just incredibly dumb in my opinion. We need to do a better job as a society at educating people on how to stay safe online.
