Honest to Gawd, it's officially on my medical record how my one food allergy makes me react to mushrooms.
I made a straight-forward response to this when I was first asked several years ago, and it's still there!
The official document now states that my reaction is "Well, it's like something out of 'The Exorcist.'
Not kidding! You can't make stuff like this up!
I still enjoy my beautifully 'marbled' (no pun intended) steaks cooked wonderfully extra-rare, but I'll always
miss the one bite I had with a bunch of 'buttered mushroom bits' on it. Boy it was good!
