    Where I am right now isn't really rural, it's just the fact that it's considered a city (pop 12,000) and there still aren't any ride sharing services or things you would expect if you were in a big city. The "next town over" where I need to go is about an hour away. The county population is about 120,000--not really barren but small compared to bigger counties I've been to.

    I wouldn't expect to be able to get a ride sharing service (or even cell service for that matter) in, say, upstate NY either and there's some places there that are way more rural / low pop than where I am.
