    The name of the university is redacted ... if you want to know the recent developments in a university;

2020-21 Fall Semester at .......... University:

..... University is shaping its plans for the 2020-21 Fall semester based on the latest developments regarding the ongoing pandemic and relevant directives from the ........... Council.

Being aware that Covid-19 is still going to be an important issue in the coming months, securing the health of our students and staff will be a major goal in planning and executing all activities on campus. Safety measures against Covid-19 will be based on four principles:
    - Keeping physical distance between people and reducing overall population density
    - Mandatory use of face masks that cover both the mouth and nose in all indoor and outdoor spaces
    - Increased hygiene measures throughout the campus
    - Keeping track of Covid-19 cases and symptoms among students, staff, and their close contacts
Prior to coming to campus, all new and returning students will be required to obtain ... codes and share these with the university. New students will enter their ... codes when filling out the online form at the time of initial registration; returning students are required to provide their .... codes through .... before course registrations.

All new undergraduate, graduate and international students will be completing their registrations by 5 September 2020. This year, new registrations will take place on Main Campus at ....., a large and open-air venue with a seating capacity of 4000.

The GE 100 Introduction to Academic Life program will take place on 10 – 12 September 2020, also at ... to facilitate good social distancing in an open-air setting. A number of GE 100 activities will be carried out online via the Zoom platform.

Course registrations for all students will take place on 14 – 15 September 2020. It will be possible to complete course registrations via ... without coming to campus. A system will be in place to circulate approval forms electronically.

..... University dormitories will be opening to new students during registrations and to returning students shortly afterwards. A set of health measures will be in place and strictly enforced. Students will be required to wear face masks outside of their rooms in all common areas and corridors while observing social distancing rules at all times. Non-essential common spaces such as meeting rooms, game rooms and TV rooms will be closed. Study halls, common kitchens, and laundry rooms will be in service but at reduced density. Students who stay at dorms with shared bathroom facilities will be able to use only the designated bathrooms in their corridors. Visitors will not be allowed in dormitory buildings and in student rooms.

In order to reduce the number of students in the classrooms and on campus, .... University is adopting a hybrid mode of teaching, comprised of a combination of online and in-class face-to-face teaching. All exams and major evaluation activities will be carried out in class and face-to-face. Similarly, most practical components such as laboratories and studios will be carried out in class and face-to-face.

During face-to-face teaching components, both the instructor and students will always wear masks covering their mouths and noses completely. In addition to the mask, instructors will teach from behind a plexiglass separator or wear a face shield.

Online classes at the ..... will begin on 14 September 2020. As an additional precaution, all classes used by the ..... Program are equipped with separators between students’ chairs. Weekly course schedules have been redesigned such that at any time only half of the students are on campus for in-class and face-to-face lectures, while the other half are attending online lectures.

Online classes in all undergraduate and graduate programs will begin on 16 September 2020. Face-to-face classes will begin on 1 October 2020 in all programs, including the .... Program, as directed by the ..... Council. Conducting online classes in the second half of September until face-to-face lectures can resume in October will allow students to get a head-start on learning and make room for future contingencies.

Weekly course schedules have been completely redesigned for the 2020-21 academic year. The new schedules, to be in effect on 1 October 2020, will have different times reserved for the following activities:
    - Hybrid lectures where a group of students are attending a face-to-face lecture in the classroom while the remaining students simultaneously attend the same lecture online via Zoom, the groups alternating between in-class and online modalities every week.
    - Face-to-face laboratories and studios where either all or a subgroup of students attend the activity in person, possibly at alternating weeks.
    - Online lectures where all of the students attend online via Zoom.
    - Scheduled face-to-face midterm exams and other evaluation activities.

Wearing a face mask is mandatory at all times in all of the buildings, outdoor areas, and shuttle buses. Social distance should be observed at times when face masks have to be temporarily removed, such as when eating or drinking.

All meetings of departments, student clubs, schools and faculties, as well as seminars and workshops should be conducted online.

Students have to observe physical distance at all times. Study groups and social gatherings should always be kept to as small a group as possible. Weather permitting, outdoor areas should be preferred for group activities.

Smoking on campus is restricted to specially designated areas beginning 2020-21 Fall semester. Since smoking compromises mask use and exhaling smoke causes droplets to travel farther, physical distance in smoking areas has to be a minimum of 3 meters.

Main Cafeterias in the Main and East campuses will serve only a fixed menu. Meals will either be served by cafeteria staff on location or be available for in a meal box for carry-out. All staff members are expected to get carry-out meals in a box and eat in their offices or outdoor spaces with minimal proximity to others. Only students are eligible to eat in the cafeterias where seating space will be limited.

University Libraries will be open for the use of students and staff. External users of the library will not be allowed to visit the library. All users in the library are required to wear masks all the time. Group study rooms will be closed. Seating in study halls will be reduced to allow for low density.

University Sports Halls in the main campus will open in October. However, East Campus gym will stay closed. The university will enforce the rules outlined by the directives of the ... on the use of Sports Halls and Swimming Pools. Athletic activities that require physical contact will not be allowed indoors or outdoors; these include basketball, soccer, squash and other close contact sports. Martial arts like aikido, taekwondo, kendo, and karate are allowed without contact only. Students are encouraged to use outdoor sports facilities as much as possible. Use of personal training equipment, running track, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, locker rooms and swimming pool will be on an appointment basis. Locker rooms on Main Campus sports hall will be out of use as physical distance requirements cannot be satisfied. Equipment and facilities will be cleaned regularly. Physical distance between users will be maintained. Use of masks is required during athletic activities as well. Group fitness classes will be held online. Otherwise, classes will be done with capacity limitations in order to keep physical distance between participants.

All shuttle service buses will be cleaned and disinfected before each trip. Wearing face masks in shuttle buses is mandatory at all times. Riders should keep physical distance as much as possible.

Please keep in mind that changing circumstances may necessitate modifications in these plans.

... University deeply appreciates the cooperation, understanding, and stoicism of its students and staff in these difficult times.

Personally, I think it's good that universities are speed-running making themselves irrelevant by eliminating the only remaining useful feature of the academy, networking with peers absent adult interference.
