09/02 - De-stressing Monday

that might be a Chrome error (are you using Chrome?) rather than Mturk. An update the other day corrupted half my stuff and I had to go into chrome extensions and fix it.

 

Nope I just snagged a Receipt Processing, using PCM and I was able to submit it, so my account is clear. For Now!

 

same happened to me after an update, It fried most of my scripts.

 

I believe I was suspended Wednesday night when the site came back up from the outage, but noticed Thursday morning. I've been emailing them since Thursday morning and received an email from Christine Sunday at about 2pm telling me they'd taken steps to remediate the problem and to check my account and let her know if it was working again.

 

I'm one of the unsuspended and my bank accounts were verified as well. And I haven't changed/updated them in at least 5 years, maybe more.
I'm thinking we were guinea pigs for whatever they are trying out to fix the problem. Christine from AWS/mturk asked me to check if it was working in her email to me yesterday and replied back thanking me for confirming it was.

 

Yes, I was able to check my Payments account while I was suspended, and my bank account was listed as Verified still. I wonder if there's a couple different issues going on and some people were affected by only one while others were affected by multiple, since I saw others saying their bank accounts were now listed as Unverified. I hope your account comes back up soon!

 

You said are you using Chrome rather than Mturk? Is it possible to use Mturk as a standalone?

 

I'm back! (Caveat: I think. I can accept a variety of HITs and all seems back to normal, but I haven't submitted anything cuz there's fuckall to submit.)

I think I was one of the first to get hit during this recent round. My only pro-active step was filling out the Turkopticon form.

This whole experience has been so weird and random, I don't want to falsely give anyone hope, but some optimism doesn't seem totally unreasonable.

 

I feel like they may have been running a test fix on a small number of accounts, just based on how she said they were working on it and asked me to provide feedback to let her know if my account was back up and running and if I was receiving any other error messages still. Now how they chose those accounts, who knows - it's anyone's guess. Maybe it was the most persistent emailers , cause I was being pretty annoying, lol Or maybe it was just random and I got lucky.

 

I agree, the TO form seemed to have sped up the process, I`m fixed now too

Same! In fact I've had the same bank account linked since I started turking in 2015. Have never changed or updated it. Christine replied to me similarly as well. I think for whatever reason we are the lucky guinea pigs and they are using whatever they did to our accounts to roll out a larger fix.

 

I started mturk in 2015 as well, maybe that's it lol

no when I said "rather than mturk" I meant "it's a problem with Chrome rather than a problem with Mturk"

in my case I had to go into Chrome://extensions and repair half of my stuff

 

The biggest irony for me, can work, nothing worth doing. BUT, my heart is so SO happy to hear that some of you are getting your access back, I really needed to see that today.

 

So since a bunch of old people are here, does anyone else remember PI Search? I'm still so upset (all these years later) that they disappeared lol
