For as much as I was up and down (used a "Plumbers Third Arm" tool that kept slipping) ABSOLUTELY. There's still the matter of getting the pipes hooked back up because there's a gap, but that's a tomorrow job.

This has actually been an almost month long project. I first tried to fix our old disposal. I personally have transportation issues and my family member doesn't like to go to stores so I had to buy pieces on Amazon. So 2 day waits....and I wanted to make sure I was working on it when I wouldn't be disturbing my family member or vise versa. Plus I have chronic sleeping and energy issues.

This is also the second disposal I bought. Insinkerator Badger 5 with "Quick Lock" system. Originally went with a cheaper Waste King but had issues installing. I ended up tearing skin off my thumb so returned it. Part of it might have been my own fault though. >_<

 

I can relate to everything in this post. except I would have given up and started throwing leftovers in the trash instead.

 

Insinkerator is a great brand for disposals.

When mine went, I ended up taking it out and putting back pipe, since I wasn't using it anyway. Def was easier too.

 

Aw, honestly it feels nice that someone understands, but that also means you have challenges and I'm sorry about that. >_< There were a few times I thought we'd have to pay someone (might still have too) but I really didn't want to have to go that route. Luckily I have a patient mother. I've been doing dishes in the rinse tub downstairs and we've gotten takeout a little more than usual but nothing crazy. I haven't done the math but hopefully we're still saving money.

So it's just my mom (69) and me (30's female) living in the house she/we inherited from her parents. The disposal I replaced was easily an over 10 year old Insinkerater that apparently doesn't even exist anymore. And the only reason I had to replace it was after dealing with a clog and putting pipes back a leak formed where the black pipe connects to the disposal. Turns out that area of the disposal and gasket were corroded, and the black pipe was cracked around the rim. Otherwise it worked fine.

I should have gone with another Insinkerator in the first place but my mom wanted to try and save as much as possible (understandable with our situation). However the Badger 5 was still under $200 and I go the one with the cord already connected.

I actually ran the idea by my mom of at least temporarily going without but she wasn't into it. And I'd have to buy more pipe then because I haven't seen any extra pieces in the house. It's the house I grew up in too (another story); so I know my way around and where to look for things.

 

I don't know what y'all are talking about, some kind of Badger Incinerator 5000 or whatever, but can I just say I keep seeing you use semicolons and I'm very impressed. I saw you use one yesterday too.

 

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday.. today seemed more like a Thursday than a Tuesday. Hope the rest of the week picks up and things get busier. Today has been a pretty decent turk day, and I could not be disappointed because I am looking at every bit I can do as progress. Only thing that would make today complete would be Taco Tuesday... perhaps next week. The local Mexican restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.. that's sad because they have great tacos.

Oh, I see. I signed up around 2022, so I don't recall if there was ever anything there or if that page even existed. Until recently, you had to download the app directly from Amazon rather than from the app stores, so it might be a relic from that time. Amazon only transitioned us to the app store version on July 31st. From what I understand, everything is now handled through the app, whereas before, you had to sign up through the website.

 

Dang, that sucks. You used to be able to sign up in less crowded markets and then request a move, but they stopped allowing that. Now, you need to have tier 2 status to make any changes. I was on the UE train, but the pay just kept getting ridiculous. After my first Flex block, I stopped doing it consistently.

 

That seems like a really poor business decision.
