because you can't post on yesterday's thread, my reply is that I have done hundreds of tasks through herokuapp. It's legit and usually used by academic researchers. I only worry about things that want you to download and herokuapp is like qualtrics, they operate from your browser.

 

also, good morning, I woke up and started working around 6am est so I'm now gonna do me to compensate for the west coasters and anyone who isn't around yet

In the rare case that another Mturker is not available within 10 minutes of you accepting the HIT, you will automatically be paid the $1.50 participation payment and dismissed. If you are matched, and the other Mturker drops out, you will be paid the participation payment plus a 50 cent bonus, for a total of $2.

I clicked the link its on herokuapp coincidentally and it says session is full. Do you think I should keep closing and reopening it or stay on the page. I have been alternating staying for a few minutes and closing and reclicking link for 14m and theres a 45m timer on the HIT it says will take 15m. What do you think I should do? My inclination is to just return to avoid rejection.

 

session full usually means that they have everyone that they need but you never know. It's the beginning of the school year so not everyone posting studies is well-versed. I would wait but not longer than will allow you to complete the study, especially considering that you have to rely on a given partner who might end up sucking (both personally and time wise). I would just release it, honestly but it's up to you, we're all struggling for $. Worst case scenario, you return and are able to catch it when they rerelease it.

 

Well I waited over 10m on the session full screen and over 25m total and returned it.

 

don't sleep on those though, sometimes its an indication of a decent bonus payment. It'll probably come back. They are usually released in batches so it could be a day, week, or month but there's a good possibility that you'll see it again.

 

You can always try emailing them. Let them know that you tried to work the HIT, but the session full message remained despite your best attempts. At the very least, they may keep you in mind for the next run and add you to a qual/email you ahead of time. Or, they may feel bad and throw you a few pennies.
