PILOT: (Sun 10 Jun) Interactive Estimation

We are back with more fun experiments! We will run an online multiplayer game as part of an MIT scientific project.

This is a pilot only with 6 simultaneous participants. The actual experiments will run later in June.

We are looking for participants who will:

• Provide us with extensive feedback on our HIT
• Suggests how we can do things better
• Be patient with glitches and bugs (we promise to resolve them as much as we can)

Sunday 10th of June 2018:

1. Qual HIT at 2 pm ET;
2. Actual HIT at 3 pm ET

The Qualification HIT information:
HIT title: (Qual HIT) Estimate values interactively with others and get up to $13
Time: 2 pm ET
Expected Qualification HIT length: 10 minutes ($1 base pay + $2 in performance bonuses)
Qualification: "Interactive Estimation" qualification is NOT granted

Expected HIT length: 30-45 minutes ($3 base pay + $10 in performance bonuses)

HIT expectations:

• Your decision to participate in the experiment is entirely voluntary.
• 16 participates will receive the quals for the pilot and 12 will play the game.
• People who join the HIT late will receive: "Sorry, we've missed you" message. This is important to avoid the problem of people auto-accepting the HIT without playing immediately. In previous runs, we experienced participants that accept the HIT and go idle (i.e., not showing up on time).

If you are to participate and get assigned the qualification, it is critical that you show up on time at the beginning of the time window. Otherwise, it would delay the start of the game for the other participants

I had to use three _ and it worked! Hope that is okay.

 

If you have problems with the blank screen. Then it is important to open up a new (different) browser that you are not logged in with MTURK and enter ANY userID (not you actual MTURK ID) and then submit that as the code (or email me)

 

Screen keeps turning white for me. I have tried on 3 browsers and 2 different computers.

 

You tried a very fresh / new workerID? (doesn't have to be your real one) ? if still doesn't work? just submit the HIT as is

 

Try some random numbers that contain as many characters as your ID.

I was having a hard time solving the quiz. I was prob missing one of them but it looked right to me >.> I tried for awhile and then this locked me out.

Edit: I opened it up right away it was just that one of the instructions wasn't clear to me.

 

Same thing happened for me. I practiced the dot thing a few times. I wouldn't have done that if I had known I was not in the game, that probably wasted my time and lost me a spot...

Sorry @SamAnt @Randomacts @margarita @Tripsa .. you should not have seen this message. The game was supposed to allocate the workers into 4 groups of 3... 3 groups started fine and for some reason, your 4th group broke! this is a bug from our side that I'll need to figure out (I already have an idea on how to fix it)... Please submit the HIT with your TurkID and you'll get the base pay of $3. Also, in two days, we will run a second pilot (based on the feedback and bug fixes from this pilot) and you will be able to participate without doing the Qualification HIT

 

Send me your turkerID and I'll send a bonus your way with that $3 base pay
