Yesterdays announcement inadvertently introduced me to my new favorite GIF.

 

Progress
Sitting here almost in tears cause I walked down the steps
I have 3 different leg / knee braces here and with the help of my son and his metals teacher we have managed to turn them into what I need. I just walked up my steps down the hall and back down the steps with no crutches for the first time in 5 years. The part that surprised me was I was able to come down the steps leading with my bad leg (used to be my dominant leg). Some aching in my back but then I've been using crutches and a wheelchair for years so gonna take it slow and build up some muscles again. Hopefully I can eventually ditch the wheelchair and use the crutches less at least.

FU - to the surgeon who wanted to fuse my knee and defiantly to the one that suggested I amputate my leg. Right now just feeling immensely grateful I didn't go through with either of those.
