Is this new? I've been seeing it on CR hits all day today..Has anyone had an experience messaging them and getting more hits from it? I'm kind of annoyed having to essentially give them my email address just to get access to future hits

If you already have the #1 qual then I would just ignore that. Run. Run fast and don't look back.
They openly admit to putting up honeypots to trap people into getting blocked. I just found out last week exactly why I got the #2, probably partially accounts for my fowl mood. I got the honeypot hit they send to people they think are "farmers". Never had a VPN on here but I did get my neighbor turking.

Interesting. I saw it on a HIT maybe an hour ago and sent them a message thinking it went to the individual requestor. I now see on a HIT that I have sitting in my queue that this goes to StudyLab. If I understand you correctly, they sent you an email with the honeypot HIT, but it did not work out in your favor because your neighbor Turks on your IP?

 

More of the CloudResearch "baffle 'em with bullshit" routine.
That whole "farmers" thing might work elsewhere, but on MTurk we have to give social security numbers and a bank account. So just where are all these fake farmer accounts coming from? My first guess is from their imagination.

 

SurveyComet and StudyLab are both CloudResearch accounts.
Yes, they sent out a number of honeypot HITs to workers targeted in the top 95%. There are people who are masters who also got this.
Neighbor is not on my IP.

Oh wow that really sucks, sorry to hear that...Thanks for the heads up.. Yeah I'm inclined to ignore it, but was almost wondering if it's possible this is the type of situation where they'll stick you with the #2, or revoke your #1 or something if you *don't* message them to prove you're a person or whatever.
