08/30 - Fixing Friday

oh ps I belong to small bank that no one has probably heard of. it's not a big bank like "US Bank" or "Wells Fargo" or any other big ones or medium size ones. @stargazer66 wondering if your connected bank is big or small. like if they are kicking people off based on the bank rather than based on the person with the account (us)? probably wrong but just another guess.

 

It's a good guess and a question I had, my bank is small too - but there are some big ones like Chase mentioned. I wonder if we should come up with an anonymous form people could put their bank into to see if there are ones NOT getting suspended.

 

Here is what my bank page on mTurk looks like. This does not appear to be handled by Payments at all.

 

And you are suspended? Do you get the payments message?

 

I am not, yet. Posting because I wanted to show the page and url on mturk's domain, not on payments. Sorry if you already have this.

 

I don't recall making one of these accounts. I can't think of a good reason why our information would be recreated on another account. Is this associated with your worker ID?

 

Nope. As far as I know I never created anything to do with a payment account. I was able to login in to it with my email and password but don't think I've ever used it. I am still able to make Amazon purchases so it isn't connected to that either.

 

I remember when I had that page, that's how I originally added my bank info, but now I don't have that, I have a payments account. This is something new I didn't realize some workers still had that. Thank you for sharing.

 

I think I remember that those of us that HAD Payment accounts (the old ones prior to worker.mturk) had them switched over automagically at some point, but I lost those emails so long ago.

 

there isn't a way I can see to create a poll on the forum that has a write-in option. so that would be a great way to do that. I was thinking that the slow roll out could be because they are going through them in some order, so it could be useful to know if someone was suspended on this date and time (best guess of the person) and what bank or credit union they get their mturk payments at.

 

FWIW I lasted till this afternoon and use a credit union with something like 10-20 branches

 

The purpose of the payments account when I first started was to schedule withdraws. when mturk was at www I would get my "payout" to my payments account and then I would schedule a movement each month to my bank account manually. I think you could automate it but I did it manually until it forced me to set up a withdraw schedule with the migration to worker.mturk.com

Not suspended yet, can still accept and do HITs. All this talk made me even scared to check my Payment setup page which I finally did. I have not open this page in years when we had to change our payment setup years ago.

It looks good but what I find interesting is that under the Payment Method neither "Transfer to Amazon gift card" or "Transfer to you bank account" is enabled. The push buttons are clear. I'm afraid to even try to enable one of them. I just going to quietly close this page and hopefully nothing happens.

Just my observation on my end.

I have my bank account linked to my mTurk account but not my actual Amazon account. I use a card for those purchases. But they all share the same email.

 

I just checked mine and same. neither of those buttons is highlighted, both are clear.
