What is with surveys with 20 minute timers today?! I thought 30 minute timers were bad!

At least it's not a 12 minute one like I caught yesterday.

I have a funny story related to Cedar Point. We went the year I turned 10, and they'd just opened the Millennium Force (which is like 300 ft tall). I was too scared to get on the ride, crying and whining, but my dad shoved me into the seat and we started up the hill. Out in the distance you can see one of the Great Lakes, and even my dad started yelling "HOLY SH*T" when he saw how high we were. I have never screamed so hard in my life. That drop was like falling off a mountain or something.

But hey, not many 10yr olds can say they've gone on (what was) the biggest coaster in the US.

For those of you who use the EarnHub thingy:

I just updated all of the transactions for May to reflect the fact that I suck at estimating how many of them would get rejected. I think in total it was like an extra $40 bonused out across whoever used it (~10% bonus overall).

It pays out a little (~3%) more as a base now so the bonus at the end of this month will probably be smaller but you'll get a few extra pennies up front.

Alrighty now back to your regularly scheduled mTurk programming :flail:

I wish my parents had forced me onto a coaster at that age. I didn't discover coasters until I was around 13 because I kept wimping out on them. If they had just forced me when I was younger, I wouldn't have missed out on so many good rides. We went to Universal Studios when I was around 13, and I remember watching my parents go on The Hulk, and I just had the feeling they were going to die. It took me 13 years to get back to Universal and finally go on The Hulk myself, after it was too late to tell my mom I finally did it.

My GF lived really close to it growing up so she's been wanting to take me for two forevers. I enjoy thrill rides so I'm sure I'll have a blast! We're there for a full two days so we can take or time, and got fast passes and everything.

I'm very picky about the coasters I'll go on. I don't really enjoy the feeling of freefall drop, so anything with like a giant 75-90 degree drop is a no go for me. I like the twists and turns and stuff. The new giant drop coasters are boring (and terrifying).

I've been blessed in the fact that I've never had to wait in long lines or pay for fast passes. Growing up, mom was in a wheelchair so we got passes, and now the person I'm with has super anxiety about lines (legit FOMO) to the point where he gets a letter and we still get passes. So we may still have to wait 2 hours, but we're free to wander around while we're waiting.

I'm not sure I'd enjoy amusement parks if I had to spend 80% of my day standing in lines.

I guess I'm on the other side of the spectrum. My dad is an adrenaline junkie and always insisted that my sister and I be the same way, so he forced us onto a lot of rides we were way too scared to go on. There was one time at Six Flags that I was crying so hard they pulled me off the ride and my dad ranted on and on about how I'd embarrassed him, etc.. It was kinda traumatic and I wish I'd been able to go at my own pace, but now that I'm older I appreciate that he wanted to shake the fear out of us. It was still a little much though.

The Hulk is my home coaster. Every school I went to had an end of the year trip to Universal. It was so freeing going on a coaster the first time on my own! Like I was finally able to make the decision myself. Good for you for getting over your fear!

I'd be cool with that one. One of my absolute favorites is the superman coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ. It also exists at other six flags I believe. The one where you get in and they tilt you so you're laying flat on your stomach. It's hella fun, and the loop feels really interesting when you're going through it like that.

I just like feeling secure. I grew up going to Six Flags in NJ all the time, so I'm a little thrill demon but I nope the fuck out of anything I feel like I'll fall out of. I can do a million and 1 loops Superman style or whatever just fine, but you try and get me on a wooden roller coaster and I lose my shit every time I bounce around in the stupid thing because I'm too small for the bar to do jack shit.

That's a shame that he was so hard about it. I just needed the "you'll enjoy this, sit down and shut up" feeling. I was never crying bad enough to get pulled off though, I was usually just ghost white and not moving at all.

I love Hulk. I only had time to ride it once when we were there 2 years ago, I can't wait to go on it again! It's gonna be our first ride of the day, it's such a fantastic ride.
