Planks. Strengthening your core will do wonders for your back.

What part of your back? Or just general core strengthening?

Just in general, but I guess my lower back mostly is the issue. There's a machine I use when I go to the gym but my work schedule this summer has been intense enough to be the gym for me instead. I was looking for things I could just do at home every day cuz my back's been a problem this week.

:emoji_lifter:&..we don't have an oats emoji so nevermind.

    Bodyweight:
"Supermans" + all the 8,000 core exercises you can find on google

    Weights:
Gluteham raises ALL DAY ERR DAY
    Good mornings/RDLs
DL/Squat will touch on the back/core but most people who sit 24/7 have lower back & hammy issues so :flail:

    Lifestyle:
Get a standing desk. Experience a new kind of pain.

Actually, I'm getting my own desk at work and the desks they use raise up into standing desks! It's pretty sick :p

And yeah, the issue may be I haven't focused on core very much lately. I kind of hate doing core the way some people hate doing legs.

Ooh, is it the rolly back thing you do like reverse crunches on? I love that thing. Total back massage!

If your lower back is giving you problems, maybe look into various piriformis stretches.

Agree on any good core exercise to strengthen back. If you have an exercise ball, use that to incorporate stretches, sit ups, leg lifts, etc.

Check out nerd fitness. There's bound to be good stuff, esp for people at desks all day.

Yes to all of this. Solid advice. I had a standing desk at one of the call centers I worked at, really enjoyed 'em.

If you have the time right now, I've been meaning to ask you for a psyllium husk rec. I'm almost done with the stuff I have, but there's added sugar in there. :| Basically I want only psyllium that preferably doesn't cause brain damage. But if it comes between sugar and brain damage, I'll take the drain bamage though. :emoji_dizzy_face: .../s

Okay that's weird, this reply popped up when I was typing the above.

A foam roller? Rolling out muscles is sooo nice once you're good at it. Gotchyu a lady-friendly article, to boot:

    http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/foam-roller-exercises/slide/7

Tbh I was pretty poor when I got into my fitness kick 4-5 years ago so I made my own muscle roller by wrapping some mini bubble wrap around a 1.5liter wine bottle then sealed it with duck tape. I still use it all the time.

Brands I used to generally trust: Optimum Nutrition, NOW, anything from Bulk Supplements/Myprotein

ON used to be good, now they're shit for what I used to buy from them. I haven't ordered anything from NOW beyond basic boring stuff like VitC in a LONG time. Bulk Supplements is cheap.. so, ya get what ya pay for caveat could exist but I've never had a problem w/ them, & thats where I ordered mine from.

Nothing that is marketed as a 'supplement' is tested by the FDA AFAIK.. So god only nows what anyone is really getting lol. I'm sure most anything from the more known companies is about as good as you can get short of growing it yourself :flail:
