cooking yuck lol I used to cook a lot but now that my daughter is a part time Vegan who never eats near and my husband only likes basics and hates my spaghetti, I only do tacos, chili and freezer crap like birds eye meals..sigh

 

I picked up holiday overtime shifts at irl job \o/

Thinking about a system on Black Friday. Looking at this one.

I'm either missing something or not understanding. It says it comes with 12Gb memory, has 2 slots with one open to expand to 16Gb. HTF do you get 12Gb memory in a single slot? I don't recall ever seeing a 12GB stick before.

 

Does it come with an 8 gb and a 4 gb and you can just swap out the 4 for another 8?

My laptop was like that except it had 2 4 gbs, and I could swap both out for 8s.

I am about to lose my mind- have not made money in two weeks - still trying to set up all this stuff and now updated Firefox will not work for me- it's slow, hangs up, won't open any survey or study links, batches forget it- 3 minutes to do a 15 second hit. Thought I had it figured out on the batches, but as soon as I cleared my cache, it started happening again. Every time I start reading about ways to maybe fix it, I end up reading for an hour and trying different things that do not work.

Ok yup. It has 2 slots, so you can swap out the 4 gb ram in one of the slots for another 8 gb.

 

Thought about that but it says it comes with one open. I've never seen a system come with mismatches sizes either.

 

One of my laptops definitely came with mismatches, so I know that is a thing. But if it says 1 open slot, no idea man.

 

As much as I hate HP (I have a laptop with them and the hard drive had went out 2x in a year ) that is a nice tower. I recommend open box in store if you can find one. I got my new desktop that way and saved over 40% of the orignal cost!

 

The open slot spec came from the same model number on Amazon. BestBuy didn't list that. Been trying to find a youtube video where someone cracks that particular unit open. Plenty of other slimline videos out but not that one yet.

 

I just can't find the right batches or when they come I am out of town or taking my kid somewhere. I did get a whole 60 CIs friday

 

I've never heard of a single 12gb stick before. Might be some proprietary shit going on but I'd assume it comes with 1x 8gb and 1x 4gb, I can't find where it says the ram is a single stick of 12gb or that only a single slot is taken.

 

I mean, on the Q&A for it, it says it comes with an 8 and a 4. I really think that's the only possible scenario lol.
