I always prefered white lights,husband prefers colored so we alternate every other year. Except the year I got out of the hospital he let me buy anything I wanted and put it up for me no compromises that year....mahhaahha

See, I usually think of colored lights as the more "festive" ones, but at the same time I think white lights LOOK nicer, so I just keep having the dilemma of which I want to go with. My daughters dad hates Christmas decorations so it's all up to me anyway lol, but we have a brown house so I keep questioning if all the colors on the colored lights would look strange. I don't even know why I think that.

 

in the end it comes down to prefrence or you could just switch it up every year because you like both

Switching it up every year sounds like a good plan, and then if I decide I don't like one of them once I see them on, i'll just know after that year not to use them.
