You're a sweetheart. But really, it's the internet, there's that. And it's a forum that's vaguely technical, so it will attract mostly guys, and a good percentage of those guys will be social inept. It's the nature of what tech attracts. We've had tons of convos about how mturk self selects for introverts and social awkward folks. So as a woman you tend to expect weird rude comments now and then. It's no big deal. Obviously those of us who participate have tough skin or just most of the time don't care (I'm usually the latter; I was raised around men in the oilfield and can hand with the best of them). But with some, it's like there's a consistent underlying disdain that's always obvious.

Now I should probably stop before everyone thinks I'm whining about being overly sensitive or some such crap.

 

My oldest always cries when she watches that, and I tell her to get real. It's only okay to cry when you watch the Notebook.

 

I actually haven't noticed much rudeness toward women here. Sometimes people will say things that are questionable or TMI, but almost never any outright disrespect.

 

Stop it, GG might get mad at you.
