02/06 - Mixing Up Monday!

I wasn't exactly in the city, but I agree. There was still some of that "old Southern charm" where I lived, though. In fact, when I moved up North, it took a while for my brain to wrap around the fact that the Civil War statues up here aren't of Confederate soldiers/generals, since that's such a pressing issue down there. It's weird, and I'll stop the issue here if it gets too uncomfortable, but I noticed there's a good bit of Southern fetish in the Midwest. Warts and all. I've seen a lot more Confederate flags being displayed in Wisconsin than I did in Louisiana, and that's saying something.

It's unfortunate. I've been to a lot of supposedly "tolerant and intellectual" sites before that had no problems with insulting Southerners/religious folk. It always made me uncomfortable, and I'm not even super religious or a Republican/conservative.

ANYWAY, now that I've almost directly contradicted my earlier post about off-topic discussions, I'm gonna go silent for a bit.

 

This seems to be the difficult aspect of living and breathing in 2017. Respecting shit you disagree with. My personal rule is if I wouldn't look you in the eye and say it in a room full of strangers, I'm probably not going to post it here.

So its just common practice to call liquor stores ABC? I didn't know they were different since like almost every state I've been in has a chain of them

 

The confederate flag represents a lot of different things to a lot of people, but if you're flying it outside of the South, that whole "it's our heritage my great great grandpappy fought in the war" excuse doesn't hold as much water if you ask me.... It usually represents something a lot more sinister in my experience.

I don't understand, I have over 500 hits approved, over 99% approval, and live in the US.. but i'm not qualled

 

Over 99% approval means 100%. 99.9% doesn't cut it.

 

Have you ever gotten a rejection? Over 99% means 0 rejections to mturk.

 

do you have 100% approval or 99.9? Because the latter doesn't work.

 

The ones in South Carolina are the only "different" ABCs i've seen.
