Yes! Silence is deafening. We lost power once years ago and it was so quiet I literally laid there awake nearly the whole night. I just couldn't sleep without the hum of the AC, the ceiling fan, the stand fan, the humidifier. I take a desktop fan with me on vacation because the hotel rooms are too quiet. Oddly enough though I can't stand having anything like the TV or radio on.

I HATE when the power goes out in the night. Not only does it get hot and humid quick, but it is waaaay too quiet. We have two stand fans (one on my side, one on husbands side) and he also sleeps with a c-pap. I just can't sleep without all that white noise.
