03/21 - Wishful Wednesday!

Hello,

We launched a trial set of data analysis, only to discover that the batch had technical errors through the M-Turk interface. We immediately cancelled the batch within minutes of its release. We discovered that the data collected was not at all what we intended to, when simple demographics questions of male vs female resulted in responses such as radishes or oranges.

We quickly consulted M-Turk and they instructed us to go ahead and reject at our own discretion as the HITS were submitted following cancellation and also not usable. This was very unfortunate for both us and for you. We are reviewing each case as well to see if any data can be salvaged. We have also created a new survey, which will be available and remain available starting later this week.

I feel that amazon f'ed up - and they're actually the english ones - so it's tempting. However, it's also equally likely that they f'ed up and they're actually the german ones.

Anyone know if they ever respond to messages?
