HITs like UserBob

Are there any other requesters that regularly post HITs like UserBob HITs? UserBob HITs have a worker record their screen while they complete a task on a website or app as they talk about what they are thinking.

I just saw that one on my dash today, but haven't done one or seen them before.
Otherwise, no, not on MTurk.

 

I can never do these! I think this is the one that always tells me my equipment is too slow or whatever. or maybe it asks you to download an extension? theres a couple requesters doing one or the other. i want to do them otherwise

 

I know this is kind of old, but I've been emailing UserBob about their qualification. I have all the right qualifications, but I can't take the test because it says I don't, but my numbers have only gone up, not down. I qualified for it before, but had trouble with the extension I tried and ran out of time. Now I get two things showing up at the beginning of every week: a makeup qualifier and the qualification itself. The first appears to be just a list telling you what to do when you retake the qual. I assumed I needed to submit it to qualify to take the test again, so I did. The other is the one that says I don't have the qualifications required, but everything but the test itself is checked off. Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, how did you get around it?

 

@FleurDeLeah I'm kind of dealing with the same thing. I passed the initial qual for UserBob about 3 weeks ago and then saw a few more of his HITs pop up a couple of days later. I didn't get to them because I didn't have access to a quiet environment for recording audio the rest of that week. They eventually just disappeared. They were also considerably lower-paying than I was expecting for what the tasks involved. They were basically the same as the test qual, but instead of $1.50, it was like $0.25.

Since then, there's just the $0.25 makeup qual for the initial test -- specifically for people who couldn't complete the main qual -- and a $3.30 HIT to be completed with an app on an Android phone. In my demographics questions, I specified that I use iOS mobile devices. I also specified that my laptop is my primary device for Turking. When I remove the filter for "HITs I'm qualified for" and see all of UserBob's HITs, there are several that I seemingly SHOULD be qualified for, based on my demographics questions. So... I'm stumped.

His Chrome screen recording extension was apparently kicked off the Chrome Web Store some time ago, and he has not updated his materials to reflect this. I had to really search to find a suitable alternative that would work properly in my preferred browser (Mozilla), and that I didn't have to buy, and I spent quite a bit of time getting that all set up for the initial qual, because I figured that's what I would be using for his HITs going forwards. Now, I generally only see HITs for mobile devices, if at all.

TBH, I'm rather disappointed. I got my laptop all set up to potentially make several dollars a week from UserBob HITs alone, and I haven't seen a single compatible HIT from him since those very first few. I wonder if it will get better at some point.
