Yay! My son's noisy power supply fan is getting replaced today. Well, the entire PSU is being replaced.

I had one computer repair place quote me the price of the PSU plus up to $100 labor.

Found another place that is charging $10 labor. Says it's a super easy fix. I chose that place to do the repair, and he's now getting all my business for all things electronic in the future. My personal business and my business's business.

I'm just happy there won't be a computer that sounds like a helicopter in my living room any longer.

I felt that exact way, too. $10 guy said yep, only $10 this is super easy. Place has been around for 10 years so....

I'll be leaving him a glowing Yelp review.

 

I hope you stuck with name brands for the PSU. Nothing like skimping on the one part of the PC that could fry everything. PSU's are dirt cheap these days too. Also, replacing a fan is crazy easy. I have a PC Power and Cooling 750w PSU that i refuse to get rid of since its such a nice PSU and have replaced the fans over the years as the bearings wear out.
