When they started putting beer in cans(yes I remember that.I'm old, damn.), people here thought that was the signal to use the empties for roofing material. I've seen squashed cans used for house patching any number of times. I understand that Ham's beer cans were excellent for that--'cause they were so thin and flimsy and easy to squash..... Don't knock it, til you try it, is my policy.
