05/17 - Failure Friday

Car side note...I used Peddle.com to take away my old car. Unfortunately, Hot Karl blew out a rear coil a few weeks ago, his hood was jammed shut from someone backing into him, a head light was out, then engine was throwing multiple codes, and some other stuff going on...after sitting for a few weeks when the coil problem popped up, he was not a happy camper. Just moving him enough to get towed was painful....but I got $750, so by Hot Karl. I'll see you in another life.

how is that type on battery usage? I went with a rechargable one because I didn't want to buy stock in Duracell

 

I wish I had a car that can do 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Prius can do it in about 10.

I think I've went thu like 6 AAA batteries in the last year? Not so bad that I've ever noticed. I went with this one cause my insurance paid for it and I wasn't really sweating the battery part.

Somedays I walk around with mine on all day so I was concerned about batteres- but it is kind of a toss up because when the ones that take batteries die half way through the gym you just pop more batteries in not so much if it needs charged so I have to keep an eye on that

 

@turker I just caught some hotels. Thought you might want to know. It was only a few, but at least we know they aren't gone.

The cheapo ones...GeoTour, and it looks like they were made by Sumitomo. I can find a few for sale on ebay and other sites, but no reviews or official information.

The only actual "review" of the tires I found was on vwvortex.com:
"Side note: Geotour is the latest cheap POS tire we've started selling. And they smell like cat piss."

 

Fwiw, I got Matt a set of rechargable AAAs for his headlamp and he LOVES THEM. He's able to swap them out for backups if need be and doesn't have to worry about when they crap out on him on a trip. I should probably get myself a set of those for my tens at some point, too.

I'd probably consider getting a rechargable when this one dies, but I've dropped this thing out of a plane onto a runway and it's still going strong, so I'll use it till it expires from this earth. I dont think I could function without this sucker- I've taken it on hikes and flights I've scared the stuffing out of random backpackers before, cause I'll be sprawled out somewhere under cover, taking a 30 minute nap with my tens on the side of the trail while I reboot.
