    I love working on a project for a month only to have corporate leadership go "lol jk we're gonna pause this and switch focus way other stuff now."

    It's almost as good as the conversation I had with one of the "newer" (like 2 years into this job kinda new) devs:

    One month ago an application team got into contact with me and said "We're launching our new HR portal externally and we need a web application firewall policy setup, and we're launching in 3 weeks!

    So we scrambled around, did all the rule learning stuff...I spent a whole damn day writing firewall rules and right after I sent that out saying I was done, I get an e-mail back saying "Yeah...we can't do that anymore"
