2. Team Rocket is taking over some PokeStops and will have some shadows floating around. Shadow Pokemon come from a Gamecube game that didn't quite catch called Gale of Darkness. You were only able to take away the Pokemon of evil people and purify them. I'm not sure how the mechanics are working in PoGo yet, but if you catch one from a Team Rocket Grunt it will have a sort of purple cloud and look evil
