    If I could, I would.

Here's the difference: I know that I'm not prepared to deal with that. That's a decision that should be made when you take a pet.

And people can be compassionate towards each other when they come looking for support on dealing with a family member who's not doing so good. Just because you're complaining about it doesn't mean you're not prepared to deal with it. It's like taking care of grandpa when he gets old. You might love him, you might deal with his shit, but you can still vent about him pissing in the bed and putting his breakfast in the oven for 4 hours because he forgot it was there.

So unless you've got something constructive to say other than suck it up buttercup, I suggest you move off of this topic.

    Uh, wow. Thanks.

She has kidney disease which is killing her so she doesn't have that much time left and the sleep issue is VERY big thing as it made me ill because she woke me up 3-5 times per night for six months.

So yeah, I'll stop rescuing animals now. Not a problem. Not like she hasn't had an awesome fucking life for the last 9 years that we have had her after rescuing her.

I've never had a pet be like this before, so yeah...my bad for not predicting the worse.

    i'll go now.

i think she's trying to make a "does this dog have quality of life anymore, or is it suffering?" decision. as someone who had to make that decision very quickly last year, i can say it's not an easy one.

Sometimes dogs suffer in ways that also make us suffer. It can be very sad while also being inconvenient to us. It can also be a sign of something bigger being wrong - a pupso that normally only pees outside suddenly peeing inside is not a good sign, being overly attached to a human because of anxiety, or being unable to sleep... Maybe just have fraction as much compassion for humans as you have for animals

Hence my saying "If you can't deal with that"

Is it annoying? Sure. Would I probably Grinch about it? Most likely.

But talking about putting a dog down based on the description that was given **at that time** was a ridiculous suggestion.

Y'all can think I'm a jerk all you want. I stand by what I said.

@morweeg said the words "buffalo chicken popper," last night and I found myself wondering what the true essence of a "popper" was.

I went on quite a journey!

I will for sure not mention it when the time comes that the vet says the kindest thing to do is put her down (which is, actually, right about now based on what the vet said the "end" will look like...when she's too uncomfortable to be fair to keep her alive.

I don't know what to do because I DON'T WANT HER TO DIE.

    And I, selfishly, want sleep.

I did mention she has kidney and pancreas disease in my initial post. Vet gave her a few months in June.
