Nope. Basically, I want to write two papers to have a "Thesis by Articles". My first one is almost done, but I supervisors have still not corrected the discussion, despite me sending it to them 2weeks ago... Then, I already have the results (all the experiments at least) to quickly write the second paper. Once the first one is accepted (I need one accepted, one submitted), I "just" have to write the intro + discussion for the thesis (the articles count for the rest), give it to a bunch of professors, they have 6weeks to go through it and then I defend.

I'm not too worried about defending tho, because my supervisors said that the Doctoral Exam (exam after 1-2years of doing the PhD that determines if you get to stay a PhD student) is the worst part and that defending is basically a formality at that point.

I doubt I will quit. The extra amazon money is great (I have plans for like $10k stuff I want to buy like monitors, chairs, etc) and this forum is way more fun than it should be.

Also, I could be swayed to stay here if there was a little something something under my avatar. Just saying.

Quick question for everyone - how long do you wait to contact a Requester when your hit is still pending? I checked the Help forums but maybe missed this thread so sorry if it's been talked about to death. I have one sitting from August 3rd.....

 

Oh, there you are. I tried tagging you when it initially got fixed a few days ago. I was able to withdraw again starting on the 8th. This was the first communication I had from them about it though

 

They auto accept after 30days, so I wouldn't contact a requester at all for this kind of matter.
