I'm getting a new iPhone this year, but if AT&T has yanked the discount we've had since we signed up with them back when I got my 3GS (and just used in 2018 to buy my kid a phone) looks like I won't be getting this fancy new phone. I'll be stuck on the now replaced XR since I don't have a bajillion dollars (read: I'm spending it all on Halloween decorations.)

I can't even keep up with the difference between the phones now. I'm still on a 7 but the battery is now starting to decline so it may be time to upgrade. There's no chance I'm paying $1000 for a phone though.

Our phones have always started at $250 and gone up if we upgrade (like, when it was new the 6s was 250 but I paid more for the 6SPlus for a bigger screen and got the highest storage. Was under 500 with taxes and all the fees and shit. With a two year contract). But I went online to ensure we still have the 250 starting price and it appears to be gone. We will be calling. Got my kid's 8 when it was still "new" for less than $300.

We have At&T. But will threaten to leave if they don't honor the discount we've always had.
