I would genuinely rather waste my time playing video games earning $0/hr than grind out $3/hr trash hits.

 

Then there's me, in the corner, wishing he simply had the location = US qual that opens up all the HITs.

 

There are 3 types of non-masters turkers.
1. the salty ones that does not have the ACCURACY.
2. the salty noobs that don't have the ACCURACY but think they do.
3. the filthy casuals that think they'll have the ACCURACY at 10K.

EVERY MORNING I WAKE UP AND OPEN-PALM-SLAM A HIT INTO MTURK

 

I would rather pay $1/hr to browse reddit than work for $3/hr.

 

I can't do bad paying hits, when I do by accident I just sort of get allergic to mturk

 

I don’t even remember when I registered for mturk. 2013? Maybe? I only did the porn tagging hits and whatever I could scrounge up on Sundays while watching football all day or when I was bored at my office job. I even had my account locked to reverify my payments account, and I didn’t do that for months because I was just like “oh well.” It wasn’t until my dad died that I needed it to be a full time income, reverified my account, and I stumbled on mtg to show me how to actually turk. And even then I had to ask someone what masters meant lol. My first post on mtg was asking what a panda is.

I feel bad laughing about how naive I was about it when I know how much masters means to people. I’m not laughing at how much I didn’t deserve it, just how clueless I was. For what it’s worth, I’m positive it was 100% random back then. I would bet now it’s at least demographic related or something.

I'm absolutely cracking up right now lolol. SOMETIMES an MTurk forum can hit that perrrfect sweet spot of lightly salted banter with multiple parties crossing their normal entrenched positions to form new team bonds and focus fire previously friendly folks.

The Masters salt bucket is almost always one of those & it's best when some totally unsuspecting but well intentioned newbie like @blanksmaiden lights the fuse
