Similar in my house. My dad worked in a print shop with in house graphic design so when they got new computers he brought home one of the old macintosh ones cause his boss was fond of us kids and thought we should learn about computers. Thanks Bob, you were a peach! Playing oregon trail with the DOS floppy was the best.

    My thoughts on younger generations:

"The counts of the indictment are luxury, bad manners, contempt for authority, disrespect to elders, and a love for chatter in place of exercise."

We had prodigy on DOS for a while, and then we had AOL and eventually switched over to WOW! for like 2 years until it imploded. That was my first introduction to web sites. Then we went to a straight local dialup provider.

My dad didn't bring home any hardware or anything, but we always had computers around the house, starting with a 386 and moving onwards. My dad was a hobbiest and I just took that and ran with it. I remember eagerly anticipating the release of windows 95 and changing windows 3.1 so that it had like a start menu and crap ;)

I guess I really am old lol. I got my first computer in 1983, a beautiful Texas Instruments TI99/4A. I remember dialing into BBS' as early as the late 80's early 90's, and I got my first in home internet connection in late 95. I remember signing up for DSL in 2001 and having to wait for 4 months until AT&T rewired the local headend to actually be able to support it. And then having to reboot that damned modem 5 times a day to keep it connected lol.

First computer I saw was in high school didn't have one at home till I was in college. I think my first internet was earthlink or AOL went back and forth for awhile. We had to get call waiting on the phone so we didn't miss calls while online.
