My son is the most confident kid you'll ever see, and wants to talk to everyone. Meanwhile, I'm standing there like, "No, I don't care about little Johnny's hockey game. Nope, I don't care about little Suzy's hockey game. Nope, I don't want to talk about myself either."

George Carlin said that no one cares about your kids, I have taken that to heart, and assume no one cares about mine. I just want that same courtesy, lol

meanwhile, my dad was the type to talk to anyone about anything. he'd sit next to a complete stranger and walk away the dude's best friend within 5 minutes. i, on the other hand, order groceries on the internet like a perfectly mentally stable mid-30s person who doesn't want to talk to human beings.

 

Now, it wouldn't really be the HubView if that was when it happened?

 

I talk to everyone and anyone when I leave my house. (And yet ANOTHER reason I would have fallen for your dad!)

My kid is always asking me how the hell I can just start talking to random strangers for like 20 minutes. (and yet another reason you and my kid seem so similar!)

I remind him I find people fascinating. Not just psychopaths.

He is glad he carries his phone everywhere as if he's "stuck" waiting for mom to stfu, he just reads TV Tropes and occasionally glances up giving me a pained, can we PLEASE LEAVE? look.
