    I don't like things with only one foot and never eat chowders or cook clams......but, I do know that live clams can be cooked. You are only supposed to cook the LIVE ones and not the dead ones(shell will be open if dead). They spoil quickly. As to how to use them for soup, I am all at sea.......you wouldn't want the shells in the soup...I suppose. Well, there's bouillabaisse, which is fish soup--sorta--with fish and clams(in shells). Something else I don't eat...Have you tried to search Pinterest for a recipe?
