have a carton full of eggs in my fridge and today is the sell by date and it's 7:49 pm on that date. going to risk it. if this doesn't go according to plan, it has been nice turking with you guys.

 

you still have weeks after the sell by date, no worries. i was always told that you will know if eggs are bad way before it ever reaches your plate.

 

should be fine, I've eaten eggs that were a few weeks past the date. so long as it's been in the fridge you should be fine, you'll know it's bad if it smells or looks funky when you break it.

 

Put an egg in a bowl of water. If it stays at the bottom, it is good. If it floats then it's bad. not a surefire way, but it can help a bit.

 

Food is usually good about telling you when it's bad. Whenever I'm iffy, I always try to make sure I get a good first whiff from whatever wafts out when you open the package.

Plus, that's the sell by date. They don't expect you to come home and cook them all that day. They are all good for a week

 

She paid me for part 1 and 2 total of $4 and a bonus of $1 when I did on Friday.

Sell by is only for the grocery store to determine when to have things on sale. They are good. I assure you

 

Just fill a bowl with cold water and place your eggs in the bowl. If they sink to the bottom and lay flat on their sides, they're very fresh. If they're a few weeks old but still good to eat, they'll stand on one end at the bottom of the bowl. If they float to the surface, they're no longer fresh enough to eat.

 

If they are bad then set them aside for future use on a bad neighbors house.

 

How did you guys do today? Even with all the crappy HITs I still managed $18 so not too bad!
