I agree, to be honest. At some point, I would expect her to say, "I've been out basically once a week since I've started, so I can't give you a ride/have to cancel the appointment/etc." On their own, the excuses are understandable, but the frequency is a serious issue, especially for a new employee who should still be trying to put their best foot forward.
