    That's where I am, downtown- came back like -6 years ago. Haven't been to the beach cause of the crap in the water since the oil spills and Corexit fiasco. 2 more people recently died after swimming here and getting a bacterial infection. They took my beautiful beach from me, bastards. Born here, grew up on on Anna Maria and miss the beach sooo much. :(

    Ohhhh that sucks! Most of our beaches are rocks and it's super cold to swim... but pretty :)

    That reallllllly sucks! I would love to have the 80s back. I lived on Siesta Key until sundown almost every day as a high school kid at Sarasota High. Did you go to Riverview then?

    Nah, Manatee High for a couple years, then went out to LA to live with my dad for a few years. Spent most of my life on Anna Maria but worked in Sarasota for about 10 years. My grandparents were realtors out there for like 50 years. We live down the road from there now I think- off Shade. Place hasn't changed too much downtown, but really built up out east.
