    Get a Zojirushi Rice cooker. Makes steaming veggies (and everything steamable) super fucking simple. Rice is perfect every time. Makes boiled eggs a breeze. I love the rice cooker more then I love myself

    I'd send you Florida people some warmth and light but I can't since it's only 22 degrees here. Hope it warms up soon and the iguanas stop falling out of trees.

    Really. I will kill someone if they hurt my rice cooker. This has been a God Send. It's brought me around to liking so many veggies and really we eat rice like once a week at least and this makes PERFECT rice.

    Alternatively an instant pot/pressure cooker also makes pretty good rice and steams things with the added bonus of potential structural failure turning it into a bomb. So that's cool.

    It's really not the same. We compared the 'proper' pot cooking method and the rice cooker side by side. It's a mile of difference. Also wash your rice like 5+ times. That really changes the game too.

    I'm not the biggest fan of how it tastes and it takes longer to cook.

    I just want my rice today...

    I don't wana start cooking my brown rice in the spring while praying to the rice gods that it finishes cooking before the winter comes.
