She won't awake from hibernation for at least another 3-4 hours.

 

The car lane appears to be a lawless land. The person in front of us let 3 different cars cut across the street and jump into the line.

 

Yea here the school thinks they are the ruler of all, that act gets old quickly and I've seen lots of parents lose it a time or 2.

 

why don't your kids walk to school

 

Kids walking about 8 miles in the dark down a road with a 65 mph speed limit seems dangerous.

 

It's a little too far from our house and the streets leading to the school see too much traffic.

 

why don't they have schools within walking distance or take the school bus

 

The elementary is close, high school not so much. My kids are supposed to catch the bus, they're just lazy schlubs who don't get up on time like ever.

16 miles up hill both ways (with downhills as well) in the dark on road that have no side walks.

At least for us - country life means one school. And it's like an hour and a half bus ride.

 

back in the day everyone walked or took the school bus. like, everyone everyone.

 

Ours normally does ride the bus. It was running late today so we drove him. We're just far enough away that they provide a bus.
