Kiddo came down with a cold last Thurs/Friday which I'm sure he got from school.

Every time I left the house I took a baggie with wipes with me and wiped everything I was touching before I touched it. I hand sanitized. I washed my hands until they were flaking from dry skin. I thought I did it all right.

I GOT HIS DARN COLD!

Only thing I can think of is I didn't wipe down ALL the surfaces in my house where he touched, like I didn't wipe the bath faucet and the refrigerator handle. So I will get better at that.

That and we live together and I do give him hugs so...I could have just gotten it in close contact when he came in for a snuggle. He's huge, bigger than 50% of grown men, but still wants Mom when he feels lousy.

 

Edit: above was said a little tongue in cheek, because I for sure believe in hand washing all the time, not just now, and wash my hands frequently. Just poking fun at how I caught a bug in my own damn house which is supposed to be safe.

 

I'm sorry that's thew world you were brought up in.

That's for sure not what I was taught, nor most of the people I associate with.

 

Here's an interesting fact: every single one of us has a higher chance of instantly dying from a sudden heart attack than getting coronavirus.

 

That's part of the analysis that scared me a little this weekend. The burden on the healthcare system that would mean even people with it have to stay home and not get help because there will just be no room for everyone. Only the sickest will get beds.

That's a scary thought.
