Mood stablizers, SSRIs, Stimulnts, keep things from getting to bad. I am typically a type 2 bi polar on my medications (no psychotic breaks) but I have to take sleep aids when I get a notion that I might be going manic which can usually stop or at least make the episode less intense. I can't believe my spouse deals with it! I remember one night this last decemeber, I woke him up at 4 am because I had this *grand* idea for a cake disign. He told me to stop being manic and to go sleep. Life partners! I think my mania is harder to live with than my depressive episodes. THey used to be worse, episodes of catonia but mood stablizers have really helped. I am mostly normal now, just kind of annoyingly excitable in rapid cycle.

Both of my extremes are bad. But that's just the bipolar. The borderline is way worse than it. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

 

Can't do the daily grind if you're falling apart. One of the best arguments for working remotely is that you can take all the time off your bills allow if you need it.

I say the same with my co morbid ADHD> I think the bi-polar can really compound *anything* its co morbid with and just make life seem really hopeless. Treating the ADHD has been a life saver this year.
