Our City legit gives us compost bins for counter top and then a big bin to dump it in and haul to the curb each week. I compost all the things from cardboard boxes to food to leaves, etc.

The city sells the compost for pretty cheap back to us. I love having my "green" can to put all my composting in. I used to compost my own stuff but stopped doing it a while back.

 

I'll order mine.

Do you use a barrel? or do you just have a pile?

Well hell. old Phineas was right.

 

I mean, to be fair, not everyone is going to be using that compost, and those funds are probably going toward important city works like lining your local politicians fat pockets.

 

so yeah, because they haul it away and handle all the composting part.

it's cheap. Very cheap. Just enough to cover the cost of the program.

Sometimes I pay for things I don't want to do myself

 

LOL. Not quite. They aren't getting rich off of the composting program, for sure. It also keeps all of this stuff out of our landfill. Instead of putting leaves and cardboard into the stuff that goes to the dump, it goes to the compost area and gets re-used vs junked.

 

For my worms?
I started in november, so I have an indoor bucket - as it was cold and they'll die if they freeze. But I'll upgrade into larger tubs in the garage this spring, as I produce more waste than they can eat in their current habitat (they control their own population by their surroundings), and probably figure out a way to heat them in the garage for next winter.

For my regular composting I have both a pile and a big garbage can. Big garbage can is outside my door so I can just toss the scraps from my backdoor without having to venture outside in the cold/rain/whatever/coron. It's large enough that it's able to heat up.

But then I have a pile as well in the yard for raking leaves and trimming bushes and stuff into. - as it's easier to just throw that all into a pile.

Pretty sure one of those is not that easy to detect even if you do know English. Dumb.

 

I just did that HIT and it sucks. At the end there's a sneaky attention check. Like in the late demographics stage. I hate when requestors do that
