Have you tried closing a door? so far, my cats can't get through those as long as I latch it. Even ThumbBoy can't open them.

 

That turns the door into a scratching post, which is even less ideal.

 

This is what my cat does. And meows until the door is opened. Then ignores me until it is closed again.

I have one that will pull on the bottom of the door......he's done it so much he has popeye muscles in his front legs.....so he can slap hard as shit.

This. 100% this is what I would be doing. 6 hours before our stay at home order went in effect the salon near me caught fire and I sure did drive down there to socially distance fire watch. I'll take my expired paramedic card next time if I have to. haha

 

My dog also does this. Even the meowing part. Can't even use the bathroom in peace.

My dog, god bless her soul, is a moron and both of the cats are already aware of the fact. She's a pointer.. so as long as the cats don't move, she can't either. So they don't, except to smack her dumbass right in the face (no claws, SO I KNOW THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING AND IT'S ON PURPOSE) and then she backs up and looks at me all offended like I'm the dipshit who didn't teach her right.
